Chris Jones, HMI, Specialist Adviser for Apprenticeships, on Ofsted’s new provider monitoring visits
Since April 2017, any provider wishing to train apprentices must be included on the register of apprenticeship training providers.
Chris Jones joined Ofsted as one of Her Majesty’s inspectors in 2013, and is Ofsted’s Specialist Adviser for Apprenticeships. He is a qualified teacher, has a master’s degree in education leadership and special education, and a doctorate specialising in continuing professional development and pedagogy. Previously he taught in schools, colleges, initial teacher education and work-based learning providers for a total of 20 years.
