Have a wonderful break

As the academic year comes to a close, we'd like to say thank you to all those involved with schools, early years and further education for your hard work over the course of the year.

Sun shining in a field

It has been a busy year with the launch of our new common inspection framework for schools, early years and further education and skills (FES) and the new short inspections for good schools and FES providers.

Our Ofsted Inspectors are now directly contracted and trained alongside our employed Her Majesty’s Inspectors and we have many more serving practitioners on our inspection teams.

It has been really pleasing, over the past months, to see growing amounts of positive feedback about these arrangements and our new framework. We hope this reassures those we inspect and regulate that we have listened and will continue to take notice of what the professions are telling us.

We look forward to engaging further with everyone with an interest in education to ensure that we achieve our shared goals and ambitions for the nation’s children and young people.

Meanwhile, we wish you all a well-deserved, restful and enjoyable break over the summer.
